Jailbreak the iPad or iPhone on iOS 9.0.2 with PanGu
Since Kodi isn’t endorsed by Apple, you’ll need to Jailbreak your iPad or iPhone before you’ll be able to install XBMC. It’s perfectly safe and can be reversed by factory restoring the device, no sign of jailbreak. Some people would even say that your device will work better after you’ve jailbroken it, there’s so much more you can do.
Step 1: Backup your iPad or iPhone just as a precaution.
Step 2: Ensure that the device is running iOS firmware version “9.0.2” before you begin, check it under “Settings” -> “General” -> “About” -> “Version” on your device.
You can easily update your device’s software by going to “Settings” -> “General” -> “Software Update” and then Click the “Download & Install” button if necessary.
Step 3: Temporarily Disable your device’s passcode in “Settings” -> “Touch ID & Passcode” -> “Turn Passcode Off” as well.
Step 4: Temporarily Disable Find my iPhone by going to “Settings” -> “iCloud” -> “Find My iPhone” at this point.
Step 5: You’ll want to Toggle “On” the “Airplane Mode” function through the “Settings” menu.
Step 6: Connect the Apple device to your computer using its USB charger cable.
Windows Users: Right-Click on the “PanGu9_v1.2.0.exe” application, and then Select the “Run as Administrator” option in order to launch it.
Step 8: Wait a few seconds for the PanGu tool to detect your device.
Step 9: Press on the “Start” button to commence the jailbreak process.
Step 10: Click on the “Already Backup” button when prompted.
Step 11: Wait a few minutes for the jailbreak process to complete, don’t touch anything for now.
Step 12: Once your phone reboots automatically, put it back into “Airplane Mode” as directed (through the “Settings” menu) in order to continue the jailbreak process.
Step 13: Wait a few minutes, then Launch the “PanGu” app from your device’s home screen when prompted.
Step 14: Once the PanGu app is run, Press the “Accept” button when prompted to allow the app to access your photo library.
Step 15: Tap on the “OK” button at the “Pangu Would Like to Access Your Photos” prompt.
Step 16: Once your device reboots itself automatically, go ahead and Disable “Airplane Mode” from your “Settings” menu.
Step 17: Exit the PanGu Jailbreak tool and unplug your device from the computer at this point.
Step 18: Launch the “Cydia” application for the first time, wait a few minutes for it to update itself the first time. Your device might reboot itself at this stage, that’s normal.
Step 19: You’ll now want to go ahead and Install Kodi for iOS to your device at this point.
Congratulations! You should now have managed to jailbreak your Apple iPad or iPhone, what more could you wish for?
