The Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick are some of the most popular Kodi compatible devices on the market. They run Kodi very nicely, and are highly recommended for use with Kodi. Kodi for Android can be easily sideloaded to the Amazon Fire TV or Fire TV stick without much effort. If you have an Amazon Fire TV or Fire TV Stick, Kodi is definitely a must-have app!
Kodi must be sideloaded to the Amazon Fire TV or Fire TV Stick since they both do not offer Google Play Store support. This means that you’ll need to manually update the Kodi app in the future, since Amazon does not officially endorse the use of Kodi on the Amazon Fire TV nor Fire TV Stick. At the same time, the Amazon Fire TV is one of the best Android TV devices around.
Step 1: Navigate to the Settings menu of your Amazon Fire TV device.
Step 2: Select the System menu icon.
Step 3: Click on the Developer Options tab.
Step 4: Click on the Apps from Unknown Developers function.
Step 5: Click on the OK button to proceed.
Step 6: Once ON is displayed next to Apps from Unknown Developers, return to the Amazon Fire TV home menu.
Step 7: Navigate to the Search function at the top of the Amazon Fire TV home menu bar.
Step 8: Input DOWNLOADER into the search.
Step 9: Click on the Downloader search term.
Step 10: Click on the Downloader app.
Step 11: Click on the Get button.
Please note that if you get the following error, you’ll have to login to your Amazon account from your computer, navigate to the Your Account section, then to Settings, then Manage Address Book. Once you’ve added an new address, you’ll have to click on Set as Default within the Manage Address Book menu. Lastly, you’ll have to reboot your device and continue from Step 7 of this guide.
Step 12: Click on the Open button.
Step 13: Press the Accept button once you’ve adjusted the screen.
Step 14: Click on the OK button to dismiss any information prompt, if one opens.
Step 15: Click on the address bar under the Enter the URL of the file you want to download field heading.
Step 16: Input the following Kodi download link using the on-screen keyboard, then press the Download button.
Step 17: Wait a few minutes for Kodi to download to your Amazon Fire TV box.
Step 18: Click on the Install button to proceed with the Kodi installation on your Amazon Fire TV device.
Step 19: Wait a minute while the Kodi app installs to your Amazon Fire TV device.
Step 20: Click on the DONE button and return your Amazon Fire TV home menu.
Step 21: If you’re prompted by a download successful message after you’ve already installed Kodi as directed above, just press the Done button again to dismiss it.
Step 22: Navigate to the Apps menu section.
Step 23: Find the Your Apps Library section.
Step 24: You’re done! Go ahead and launch Kodi on your Amazon Fire TV for the first time.
