If you’re tired of looking at the default Kodi background and feel like spicing things up, you can easily set your own custom wallpaper in a matter of seconds. You can use any image you’d like, just make sure it has already been saved to your Kodi device.

Once you’ve saved your desired image to your Kodi device, follow the procedure below to set it as your Kodi background image. Don’t worry, you can always go back and change it to something else whenever your heart desires.

Required: Desired Image Saved on Device with Kodi 16.1 Jarvis or Below

Step 1: Navigate to the Settings tab under the SYSTEM menu.

Step 2: Select the Appearance tab from the vertical menu bar.

Step 3: Click on the Settings field within the Skin tab.

Step 4: Select the Background Options tab on the vertical menu bar.

Step 5: Click on the Enable custom background field.

Step 6: Select the Background path setting field.

Step 7: Select the folder within which you saved your desired Kodi wallpaper image.

Step 8: Click on your desired Kodi background image file.

Step 9: You’ll now see your selected image listed beside the Background path field.

Step 10: Return to the Kodi homescreen and admire your beautiful new Kodi wallpaper image.

We’ve heard of people putting all kinds of images as their Kodi background, from family photos, to cars, to pets. Kodi gives you the ability to decide how you want it to look, while expressing yourself in the process.
