Enabling AirPlay in Kodi to Play Music from iOS (16.1 Jarvis or Below)

If you’re using an iPhone, iPod, or any device with iTunes and want to play your music directly through your Kodi powered device, just enable AirPlay within your Kodi settings then broadcast to it from any iOS device, as long as it’s connected to your home network.

It should be noted that you’ll only be able to share audio through AirPlay on Kodi, not screen sharing because of limitations within the Apple iOS ecosystem. It’s still pretty good if you want to easily share your audio through your home theatre system, without the short distance limitations that you’d experience with Bluetooth sharing.

Required: Kodi 16.1 Jarvis or Below

Step 1: Navigate to the Settings tab under the SYSTEM menu.

Step 2: Select the Services tab towards the bottom of the vertical menu bar.

Step 3: Choose the AirPlay tab from the vertical menu bar.

Step 4: Click on the Enable AirPlay support field in order to enable the function.

It should work pretty seamlessly, allowing you to select your Kodi device from your Apple iOS device audio output options. Hopefully AirPlay in Kodi will come in handy the next time you have a house party and wish to allow your guests to control the music.
